Chief Marketing Officer
Doug Laird is responsible for Carbon Black’s global marketing efforts, defining the market strategy and vision, branding, product positioning and segmentation, demand creation, and channel marketing. His track record includes helping companies define and lead high-growth categories such as CRM (Siebel), business intelligence (Qlik), social media marketing (Google/Wildfire), database (Oracle), and compliance (SAP/Virsa). Laird joins Carbon Black from Couchbase, where he helped position the company as a leader in the NoSQL database market. Before Couchbase, he led marketing at Wildfire and repositioned the company from a social promotions tool to a best-in-class social marketing platform, resulting in its acquisition by Google. Previously, he led marketing at business intelligence software company Qlik, where he helped grow annual revenue fourfold in three years and positioned the company for a successful IPO. Laird also held executive marketing roles at SAP/Virsa, Siebel Systems, and Oracle.
