Co-founder & CTO
Michael Viscuso drives the development of Carbon Black’s long-term company and product strategy. He was co-founder and chief executive officer of Carbon Black, which merged with Bit9 in February 2014. A business-minded technologist, Viscuso is known for his drive and sense of mission and is highly regarded in the Computer Network Operations community as a top mind in offensive security.
He co-founded Carbon Black in 2011 to provide organizations with unmatched protection, detection, and incident response capabilities. Prior to the merger with Bit9, Viscuso led Carbon Black’s rapid rise and brand recognition in the market. Viscuso earned bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and computer science at Villanova University.

Tom Kellermann is the Chief Cybersecurity Officer for Carbon Black Inc. Prior to joining Carbon Black, Tom was the CEO and founder of Strategic Cyber Ventures. On January 19, 2017 Tom was appointed the Wilson Center’s Global Fellow for Cyber Policy in 2017.
Tom previously held the positions of Chief Cybersecurity Officer for Trend Micro; Vice President of Security for Core Security and Deputy CISO for the World Bank Treasury.
In 2008 Tom was appointed a commissioner on the Commission on Cyber Security for the 44th President of the United States. In 2003 he co- authored the Book “Electronic Safety and Soundness: Securing Finance in a New Age.”

Mr. Trent R. Teyema is a dynamic and motivational Senior Executive Service (SES) Special Agent with the FBI. He is a leader with over 25 years of extensive background in high-risk national security and law enforcement environments. He is internationally recognized for his expertise in information security, incident response, digital forensics, and cybersecurity policy. Mr. Teyema currently is the FBI’s Chief for Cyber Readiness and Chief Operating Officer where he is responsible for all business operations for the Cyber Division. In this role, he drove operating strategy and execution which increased the overall cyber readiness posture of the FBI.

Simone Petrella has over 13 years of experience in information security and currently serves as Chief Cybersecurity Officer at CyberVista, where she leads overall product strategy for the company and oversees development and delivery of cybersecurity training and education curriculums as well as workforce initiatives. He holds a BA from San Jose State .
Sr. Threat Researcher
Jimmy Astle is a Sr. Threat Researcher on the Carbon Black Threat Analysis Unit, with over 10 years of in-depth exposure to Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, and Cyber security testing/simulations for the IC and DOD. At Carbon Black he primarily focuses on product efficacy initiatives, working with customers and partners on incident handling, and 3rd party testing. Prior to Carbon Black Jimmy was a Systems Engineer in the Cyber Systems Assessments Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory where he lead engineering efforts in a number of “live-fire” Cyber Command exercises as well as assisting critical National Security missions.

Senior Threat Researcher
Brian Baskin is a Senior Threat Researcher with Carbon Black’s Threat Analysis Unit, with a specialty in digital forensics, incident response and malware analysis. Baskin was previously an Intrusions and Malware Analyst/Reverse Engineer for the Defense Computer Forensics Laboratory, part of the Defense Cyber Crime Center. For nearly 15 years Baskin has worked to research, develop and train responses to growing network threats. Baskin devotes his time to researching threats, reverse engineering and developing security tools.
Senior Director, Information Security
Jason has 15 years of experience in information security roles, and currently oversees security for a multinational BPO and contact center. Jason has been leading security functions for the past five years, including building a complete ecommerce information security program from the ground up at his previous start-up stage employer.

Spencer Brady is the Manager of Network Security and Operations at WeWork, an organization that transforms buildings into collaborative workspaces.
Cathy Cramer was one of the first analysts to join Carbon Black’s ThreatSight SOC (Security Operations Center). She holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from Regis University, Bachelor of Architecture from Texas Tech University, and is a recent graduate of SecureSet Core Cybersecurity bootcamp. Prior to joining Carbon Black she was a backend web developer, and as a small business owner, coordinated website development for small and medium businesses.
Cathy is excited to contribute to securing ThreatSight customers by providing timely notifications and additional context for threats. At every level, the ThreatSight team is dedicated to bringing more value to our customers while helping them improve their security.
Kyle is a Threat Researcher in Carbon Black’s TAU team. He has over 10 years of experience in many areas of computer science and IT. Prior to Carbon Black, Kyle worked in finance and with the DoD in various roles ranging from network/systems administrator, software engineer, reverse engineer, penetration tester and offensive tool developer. At Carbon Black, Kyle’s focus is on large scale program analysis, primarily static but moving asymptotically toward dynamic analysis.

Senior Threat Analyst
John is a Senior Threat Analyst within Carbon Black’s Threat Analysis Unit. He administers the team’s malware detonation lab, studies binary classification, and specializes in crypto-mining malware. Prior to TAU, John was a member of Carbon Black’s internal Security Operations team, and previously to CB has published research surrounding internet censorship circumvention techniques. He also has an interest penetration testing techniques in procedures, having recently obtained his OSCP.
Security Operations Manager
Ryan guides the architecture and roadmap for Information Security. He also acts as lead investigator for all security incidents at Hologic. He has worked in technology for 12 years, from Helpdesk to Network and Systems Administration before moving into a security role in 2015, when he built Hologic’s security program. He currently holds the CISSP and GCCC certifications, previously also holding the CEH. Outside of Information Security, he spends his free time balancing time between his family (wife, 2 boys), his hobbies (fantasy football and craft beers) and his pets (dogs, cats, chickens).

Jared Myers is a Senior Threat Researcher with Carbon Black’s Threat Analysis Unit, with over 15 years of experience specializing in digital forensics, incident response and malware analysis. Jared was previously an Intrusions and Malware Analyst/Reverse Engineer for the Defense Computer Forensics Laboratory, part of the Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center. Jared has also supported incident response and digital forensic exams in support of FBI, OSI, as well a state and local investigations. Jared is an adjunct professor instructing a Windows forensic examinations graduate level course as well as a guest lecturer in memory forensics and malware analysis courses.
Adam Nadrowski is a Threat Researcher with Carbon Black’s Threat Analysis Unit, specializing in cyber threat intelligence and threat detection research. Adam currently leads several projects at improving Cb’s detection of targeted and advanced attack techniques. For the last 6 years, he has held various Support, System Administration and Operations Engineering positions at Cb and DoD organizations. He enjoys learning and practicing red team/penetration testing techniques and has completed his Penetration Testing & Ethical Hacking graduate certificate from SANS.
Director of the Threat Analysis Unit (TAU)
Param Singh leads Carbon Black’s Threat Analysis Unit (TAU) and ThreatSight (SOC) teams, with over 18 years of experience in Penetration Testing, SOC, Reverse Engineering, Data Analytics, Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, and Threat Research.
Previously, working with SecureWorks’ Counter Threat Unit, Param played a key role in protecting 5000+ customers globally and many of the Fortune 100s by leading war rooms, handling incidents, improvising SOC, architecting workflows, building security automation and threat intelligence teams.
At Carbon Black, Param is focused on building next generation Threat-Research and SOC team that is intelligence and data-driven to protect our customers from recent threats and exploitation.
Patrick Upatham works in applied threat research and data analytics for Carbon Black’s Threat Analysis Unit. As a former FBI division computer scientist and private sector security consultant who led incident response, forensic and security assessment teams, he applies real world experience to provide perspective and innovation to Carbon Black’s product portfolio.
Patrick has also spent over a decade architecting endpoint and network solutions for government and Global 2000 organizations focused on protecting their sensitive data and infrastructure which have resulted in both undisclosed and global headline indictments.
Senior Malware Analyst
Jaan Yeh is senior malware analyst with Carbon Black’s Threat Analysis Unit, with 10 years of experience in the cyber security field. He is previously worked as a malware analyst and SOC analyst in the banking industry. In his free time he do helps on organizing CTF for HITB in Malaysia, Singapore and Amsterdam.
